Contract

Salaries and Pay
For full-time members, information about compensation, including maxim and minimum salary tables for each rank, are listed in Art. 12 of our CSU-AAUP Contract. Salary Payment Procedures are covered in Art. 12.7.
Pay rates for additional duties and work during summer and intersession for 10 month employees are outlined in Art. 11.2. The Department chair’s stipend is covered by Art. 12.5.5.
Members can apply for a market adjustment if they believe their salary is well below market rate, but there are only a limited number of adjustments available. See Art. 12.5.6
Raises
During contract negotiation CSU-AAUP often wins raises for all our faculty, full-time and part time. For full-time faculty not every member will get exactly the same raise. This is because we want to ensure that faculty at the lower end of a salary rank can move up towards that top of that rank in a reasonable amount of time. To ensure this we usually agree to work with management to use a biweekly increment to calculate the precise raise for each faculty member. This often means that those members at the top of their rank will receive a slightly smaller raise than those near the bottom. The biweekly increment uses a formula that considers rank, number of years in that rank, and the percentage of the overall wage increase. See Art. 12.5.3 for the current biweekly increment.
