CSU-AAUP is disappointed in the latest state budget proposal. This budget would provide additional funds in the first year to help our system make ends meet, but no additional funds for the second year. This could lead to devastation for public higher education in this state. Our students need more resources now than ever, and those resources require adequate funding to be sustained. This budget will harm our institutions, our faculty and staff, and Connecticut's students. Despite the dismal ramifications of this budget, we will continue to fight for what is best for our students and communities. We will fight against tuition hikes, program closures and layoffs, just as we have fought the past six months for a moral budget for all state agencies and public services.
