The mission of the ECSU-AAUP Chapter is to support the CSU-AAUP mission of “representing the interests of the university faculty while advancing academic freedom and shared governance to ensure higher education’s contribution to the greater good” on the Eastern campus and in the state of Connecticut. On our campus, we ensure contract compliance, offer our members representation on personnel issues, and support student research through our Thoresen Scholarship Fund. We believe that as a faculty we are stronger together.
The Union Faculty Liaison is the key link in our union. Each department selects a liaison to develop relationships between the faculty and the ECSU-AAUP Executive Committee. The liaison is tasked with being a leader, organizer and educator.
